19 new employees of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) attended the Orientation on Quality Management System and Gender and Development (GAD) Program on January 20, 2020, Monday, at the NLRC Conference Room, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
Said orientation is part of the capacity building program for newly-hired and promoted employees. The same was facilitated by NLRC Administrative Division, with speakers Labor Arbiter Cherry P. Sarmiento and Ms. Belen D. Nicasio, representing the NLRC GAD and QMS Committees, respectively.
A Quality Management System is a formalized system that documents processes, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. It helps coordinate and direct an organization’s activities to meet customer and regulatory requirements and improve its effectiveness and efficiency on a continuous basis.
Presently, the NLRC is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization – the most recognized and implemented quality management system in the world.
On the other hand, the Gender and Development Program is based on the Magna Carta of Women and PCW Circular No. 2011-01. The Program aims to advocate, guide, coordinate, and monitor the development, implementation, review and updating of GAD Plans of agencies and GAD-related programs, activities and projects.
Each year, the Administrative Division holds semestral trainings and orientation on QMS and GAD Program to educate all newly-hired employees on the basic policies and laws implemented and supported by the Commission.
