In a letter dated 17 September 2019, the office of the Senate Majority Leader, Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri ensures Chairman Gerardo C. Nograles of the Senator's full support to the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) toward better labor-management relations.

The Senate Majority Leader expresses his appreciation to the NLRC Chairman for sharing the performance report of the Commission for FY 2018.

The reply-letter was in response to the letter of the NLRC Chairman informing the Congress - House of Representatives and Senate of the Philippines of the accomplishment and the instituted reform measures and innovative policies and practices of the Commission to ensure compliance with the administration policy, improve labor adjudication and arbitration, achieve speedy and impartial disposition of cases, and eliminate perception of corruption.

"It is my duty as head of the agency to give performance report to the Congress in pursuit of their congressional oversight function - a system of check and balance in the government," Chairman Nograles said.

"A transparent agency is one of the hallmarks of a truly accountable agency," Chairman Nograles added.

According to the good Senator, in a message relayed through Atty. Neliza N. Macapayag, the report of the Commission is useful for the Congress to determine the next legislative steps to take in order to promote fair and just labor-management relations.

The NLRC is a quasi-judicial agency tasked to promote and maintain industrial peace based on social justice by resolving labor and management disputes involving both local and overseas workers through compulsory arbitration and alternative modes of dispute resolution.
