Davao City. The city’s Regional Arbitration Branch of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC, RAB XI) targets to dispose its voluminous records of long-decided cases aging 10 to 15 years and above these “Ber” months.
Through the years, these records were hugely filled-up in most of its stockroom spaces giving mobility problem in its office personnel in the stockroom area. It even came to a point wherein the building hallway was also occupied with all records for disposal, a clear soar to the eye of every client or visitor of the said office.
In compliance with the memorandum issued by the Chairman, Gerardo C. Nograles, in proper disposal of government records and in support to the office memorandum issued by its Regional Chief, Atty. Nelia Q. Tancio-Sedillo, for the arrangement of the disposal of its old cases in accordance with the existing rules of the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), another memorandum was again issued by its branch head requiring all of its concerned employees to render overtime services on various dates before this month of September 2019 ends, in consonance with the existing Civil Service Commission (CSC) rules, to address its office’ concern in the preliminaries of its records for disposal.
The required tasks needed for the disposal include: docketing, segregating and filing of permanent documents for retention. Atty. Sedillo said, “these tasks can’t be done during the usual daily course of office hours because services to the clients will be affected and we can’t allow that.”
“With the combined effort and cooperation of the entire NLRC RAB XI personnel, we are hopeful that much of our old records will be correctly disposed this October or before the end of this year”, Atty. Sedillo said.
